Recently, I have been singing this song so much. Never fail to touch my heart.
Praise God. The morning prayer meetings last week has been awesome. I have really been spending more time worshiping God. The part that always touch my heart in this song is the line:

IN WORSHIP WE WILL MEET YOU FACE TO FACE

What a beautiful line.. And how very true. Its always during worship that I felt so much closer to God and can hear His voice and warmth so deeply. Praying and reading the Bible, I do them too but, for me personally, music and worship is the thing that really draws me closer to God.

Recently God also have been speaking alot about having faith in Him in finances.

In 1Kings 17, Elijah prayed that famous prayer that stopped rain for 3 years. And there was a huge drought and famine across the entire land, but in 1 kings 18, after 3 years, Elijah went and challenged Baal's prophets. 1 vs 450. And when it was Elijah's turn. This is what he did:

Then Elijah said to all the people, "Come here to me." They came to him, and he repaired the altar of the LORD, which was in ruins. Elijah took twelve stones, one for each of the tribes descended from Jacob, to whom the word of the LORD had come, saying, "Your name shall be Israel." With the stones he built an altar in the name of the LORD, and he dug a trench around it large enough to hold two seahs of seed. He arranged the wood, cut the bull into pieces and laid it on the wood. Then he said to them, "Fill four large jars with water and pour it on the offering and on the wood."

"Do it again," he said, and they did it again.
"Do it a third time," he ordered, and they did it the third time. The water ran down around the altar and even filled the trench.

At the time of sacrifice, the prophet Elijah stepped forward and prayed: "O LORD, God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, let it be known today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant and have done all these things at your command. Answer me, O LORD, answer me, so these people will know that you, O LORD, are God, and that you are turning their hearts back again."

Then the fire of the LORD fell and burned up the sacrifice, the wood, the stones and the soil, and also licked up the water in the trench.

When all the people saw this, they fell prostrate and cried, "The LORD -He is God! The LORD - He is God!"

This is an amazing story. There was drought in the land and the most precious thing on planet earth was not Gold or Diamonds or precious stones. It was water!!! But when Elijah build the altar of God, he build it with not just wood and stones. He added water into the trench. The Bible says a hole big enough to hold 2 seahs of seed.

1 seah = 2 Gallons. 4 Gallons = 18 Lt of water. Thats four bottles of these:Can u imagine pouring that much water into a trough and asking God to burn up the bull? Siao right? Impossible, Literally soaking wet leh... But then God came through and the people saw the reality of God and turned to Him.

And Elijah said to Ahab, "Go, eat and drink, for there is the sound of a heavy rain." So Ahab went off to eat and drink, but Elijah climbed to the top of Carmel, bent down to the ground and put his face between his knees.

"Go and look toward the sea," he told his servant. And he went up and looked.
"There is nothing there," he said.
Seven times Elijah said, "Go back."

The seventh time the servant reported, "A cloud as small as a man's hand is rising from the sea." So Elijah said, "Go and tell Ahab, 'Hitch up your chariot and go down before the rain stops you.'

45 Meanwhile, the sky grew black with clouds, the wind rose, a heavy rain came on and Ahab rode off to Jezreel.
After that it begin to rain and prosperity begin to pour down. This story really inspired me to give my precious to God.

Arise and Build

Long week

Wow.. Its a super long week. So many engagements, things-to-do, breakthroughs, and mountain tops. Learned so much in the entire week.

Haha! Last week has really been awesome.
Did some photoshoots, learned guitar, taught guitar, played for other cell group. And also wanna thank God for my financial breakthrough. Truly God is powerful and listens to prayers. =)

But this week, its also going to be super long and stretching. But all things are possible through Christ who strengthens me.
Looking forward to this coming week. =)

Guitar Lesson With Poh

Weewoowee.. I am currently learning guitar from a teacher. And yes, this is my teacher!

Teo Poh Heng, affectionately called Poh by CHC members.

This is something that I really wanted for a long time and have always visualised and prayed for it! Thanks Amelia! Haha! =)

Poh is just amazing la! Even a simple guitar class always carries a powerful revelation. Today the thing that I was most impacted when he said this:

"Many people who learn scaling (notes that ascend or descend by family notes or scales) always go for speed rather than accuracy and precision. They can play very fast, but often miss a note or two in between. It becomes a habit. When it becomes a habit plus the speed which they are playing at. They will never become great guitarists. Unless they break it and relearn everything."

No matter what some people say about other guitarist who are better or what, I would say, Poh is STILL THE BEST!!! Sometimes we see him play in church when he is leading Praise and Worship, we think that for Poh, he can only strum. Tsk tsk tsk... You should see him play the electric guitar. Floored us to the ground la.. You must see him play in the flesh, live and in colour, before you can fully appreciate his playing. Haha! Awesome!

His teaching style is awesome too. Learned alot about teaching from him! He is just awesome! =) Like what Poh taught today, I am going to bring people into my world, through my playing, into God's presence.

New Breakthrough

Man..
I need a new breakthrough. Most things are stable in my life now. But I don't just want stable. I want prosperous living. Excellent Living. Going to pray and fast for it. Too Stable.. Too stagnant

I am seriously going to fast the kind of serious-fast-when-you-get-serious-with-God-and-then-you-fast kind of serious fasting. Fierce. Super fierce.

And as a matter of fact. This few verses are now surely but not too slowly becoming the conviction of my life

You lazy fool, look at an ant.
Watch it closely; let it teach you a thing or two.
Nobody has to tell it what to do.
All summer it stores up food;
at harvest it stockpiles provisions.
So how long are you going to laze around doing nothing?
How long before you get out of bed?
A nap here, a nap there, a day off here, a day off there,
sit back, take it easy—do you know what comes next?

Double fierceness...

Triple Kill by God..

Yes the Sermon on the Mount.

We have so much information, first-class preaching, Great sermons. But what matters most is the application. Soap is everywhere, but it is useless if we keep them lying around. Yes, we do not change overnight. But it takes discipline.

Phil Pringle says:

The world lies at the feet of the disciplined. Everyone dreams. But only the disciplined will accomplish theirs. A dream without disciplines is the pathway to frustration, anger, and deep disappointment. Even a dream from God has no guarantee it will come to pass. Success of the dream demands discipline. Start disciplined, stay disciplined, finish disciplined. Disciplines are the way of life. Morals, finances, attitudes, emotions, relationships, work, devotions; all require discipline to be healthy and successful.

Patricia Fripp says:
You do what you have to do, to do what you want to do.'

I am trying, really trying! Thats why I will be fasting more. =) Pray for me! Don't be too merciiful on me. Thx Kenneth! You reminded me! =)

Was looking through some blogs of a particular friend that I met once only. Read some her posts. Although they were criticizing a particular Cg member of mine, but my heart goes out to her. She looks a perfectly sweet girl. Looks naive, innocent and pretty as well. But some of the words that she used and all don't really tally with how she looks on the outside.
Got reminded of a verse:

A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good;
and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil.
For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

When I saw her for the first time only bout a month or two ago, she said she was sec two. 14 years of her life embroiled in bitterness, jealousy and also insecurity. Seeking love in the wrong places. Can you imagine how much she is going through. Sometimes, we often say that someone's character drive a person away from friends and company. But what is the root of the character?
Someone said before that "Character is Not Shaped Overnight."

But I am also disappointed in 'Christians' who defended my member. There is nothing wrong in defending one another, but its how we do it. How we react or respond to an issue. The late Dr. Ed Cole said this, "A childish person reacts to situations, but a mature person responds to it." React rely on feelings, respond thinks first before speaking. The same verse applies:

Pastor Kong spoke about being a classy people, a classy generation of believers. Not because we want to show that we are superior to others. Not to snub. But to bring and carry the name of our Father, The King; The Lord, well. We carry the reputation of God.

The issue here is this:

Didn't we behave and talk like them (non-believers) before?

But on the 8th of Oct 2005, Jesus came and loved me for WHO I AM and Whom I was, And How I were. People that entered my life, accepted me were Sheena, Royston, Kenneth and also Xianbi and even Jasmine, When I was still who and how I were.
A major part of how I felt God's love is through them.

People, are we too judgmental?

God wants us to be a channel where His love can be felt by not just believers, but to those who never knew Him as well.

Loving God wholeheartedly; Loving People, (Not just Christians or your cg mem), Fervently

2 Kings 2

Elijah Ascends to Heaven

1 And it came to pass, when the LORD was about to take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal.



2 Then Elijah said to Elisha, “Stay here, please, for the LORD has sent me on to Bethel.”
But Elisha said, “As the LORD lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you!” So they went down to Bethel.
3 Now the sons of the prophets who were at Bethel came out to Elisha, and said to him, “Do you know that the LORD will take away your master from over you today?”
And he said, “Yes, I know; keep silent!”



4 Then Elijah said to him, “Elisha, stay here, please, for the LORD has sent me on to Jericho.”
But he said, “As the LORD lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you!” So they came to Jericho.
5 Now the sons of the prophets who were at Jericho came to Elisha and said to him, “Do you know that the LORD will take away your master from over you today?”
So he answered, “Yes, I know; keep silent!”
6 Then Elijah said to him, “Stay here, please, for the LORD has sent me on to the Jordan.”
But he said, “As the LORD lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you!” So the two of them went on.



7 And fifty men of the sons of the prophets went and stood facing them at a distance, while the two of them stood by the Jordan.
8 Now Elijah took his mantle, rolled it up, and struck the water; and it was divided this way and that, so that the two of them crossed over on dry ground.



9 And so it was, when they had crossed over, that Elijah said to Elisha, “Ask! What may I do for you, before I am taken away from you?”
Elisha said, “Please let a double portion of your spirit be upon me.”
10 So he said, “You have asked a hard thing. Nevertheless, if you see me when I am taken from you, it shall be so for you; but if not, it shall not be so.”
11 Then it happened, as they continued on and talked, that suddenly a chariot of fire appeared with horses of fire, and separated the two of them; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
12 And Elisha saw it, and he cried out, “My father, my father, the chariot of Israel and its horsemen!” So he saw him no more. And he took hold of his own clothes and tore them into two pieces.
13 He also took up the mantle of Elijah that had fallen from him, and went back and stood by the bank of the Jordan.
14 Then he took the mantle of Elijah that had fallen from him, and struck the water, and said, “Where is the LORD God of Elijah?” And when he also had struck the water, it was divided this way and that; and Elisha crossed over.
15 Now when the sons of the prophets who were from Jericho saw him, they said, “The spirit of Elijah rests on Elisha.” And they came to meet him, and bowed to the ground before him.

25 Then he went from there to Mount Carmel, and from there he returned to Samaria.

The Names of God

Both yesterday night and a moment ago, God has been revealing something about Himself to me that really impacted me.

Like with Peter, God asked me: "Who do you say I am?"
I answered Theologically in the old testament.

JEHOVAH or YAHWEH which means the LORD (All caps)
First use Gen. 2:4 (Jehovah Elohim). From the verb "to be", havah, similar to chavah (to live), "The Self-Existent One," "I AM WHO I AM" or 'I WILL BE WHO I WILL BE" as revealed to Moses at the burning bush, Ex.3.

And the characteristics of Jehovah is found below:

Jehovah-Jireh: The LORD who Provides
Jehovah-Rapha: The LORD who Heals
Jehovah-Nissi: The LORD is my Banner (Victory)
Jehovah M'kaddesh: The LORD who Sanctifies
Jehovah Shalom: The LORD our Peace
Jehovah Tsidkenu: The LORD our Righteousness
Jehovah Rohi: The LORD our Shepherd (Ps 23)

P.s: I found a few more Jehovah names on the net but I am not familiar with them. But basically BS in CL ever gone through them.

So I rant off and off with the Hebrew names of God, Jireh, Rohi, Shalom, etc
And then God stopped me and asked me, which is the common factor in the names. And I answered Jehovah, LORD?

And He replied: I AM WHO I AM, I AM your Provider, Healer, Banner, Sanctification, Peace, Righteousness, Shepherd.
I know its like, ya i know to many, but when God says it to you personally... Man.. Its just different. And then God just whacked me deep.

"I can Provide for you , Heal you, Bring Victory to You, Sanctify you, bring Peace to you, be your Righteousness and also Shepherd You. But the important thing is not in the Characteristics in My names, but that I am God! Jehovah comes before Jireh, Rapha, etc."

I know it sounds like Getting Started or Christian Lifestyle, but believe me.
Knowing is one thing, Experiencing is another
